Mission Trails Mens’ Golf Club Board of Directors Meeting November
3, 2011 Minutes The meeting was called to order by President, Mark Cerff at 5:45PM. Board Members present
were Mark Cerff, Jim Pilling, Jim Kutzler, Tom Kosmas, Terry Kiely, Jim Southard, Al Zale, Greg Donaldson and Mike Lessard.
Also present were committee members Brian Lewis and John Linn.
COMMITTEE REPORTS Jim Kutzler reported everyone has received a copy
of the minutes for both the October Board Meeting and the General Membership. The minutes were approved
and seconded.
Tournaments Report Tom Komas reported that this year’s Turkey Trot will donate to Gary McMinn’s golf team.
There was a motion to accept the dates Riverwalk has proposed for us. Tommy will propose a game
plan on how to use Riverwalk. Tom also reported that his committee will be utilizing the new scoring software
– TPP - from the SCGA. Jim Kutzler has been authorized to spend up to $1,000.00 to obtain the necessary
equipment for the club. Jim will also assume the responsibilities to get the software installed and working.
Membership Update There are 204 members as of this date.
The deadline for membership renewal is the December 4th Chiefs. Jim Kutzler was asked
to send an email blast to club members reminding of this deadline. Renewal will continue to be $85.00
Treasurers Report Mike Lessard submitted a Treasurer’s
Report through October 2011 showing a beginning balance for the 2011-2012 season of $5,586.39 including a Social Balance of
$464.59 and a Team Balance of $818.54. Income for the month of October was $3,796.00 with expenses of $1,220.00
leaving an October closing balance of $8,162.39.The Treasurer’s Report was approved and seconded.
Social Report Mark Cerff reported on behalf of Gary
Boecker. Mark requested $500.00 for another Champeen Brunch. The request was approved
and seconded.
Rules &
Greens Terry
Kiely reported Mission Trails has hired a new Greenskeeper. The new Greenskeeper will be working on replacing
OB and Hazard stakes. He also will be supplying a schedule for aerations. Terry also
reported he would like to hold a Rules Seminar at the Trails. Terry will schedule a team meeting for both
the Thursday and Saturday teams.
Handicap Report Jim Southard reported that 35 members have had
their handicap adjusted. Gary McMinn offered to conduct an audit of the handicap software and calculations
and was invited to do it.
OLD BUSINESS Mark
Cerff reported the BODAT will be delayed until everyone can make it. Mark will re-schedule.
NEW
BUSINESS Jim Southard reported that the Thursday team will play Chula Vista
and Cottonwood although it is not official yet. Jim requested Jim Kutzler to send an email blast to all
members explaining team play and requesting participation.Jim Piling reported he has found a company to make a magnetic placard
of our schedule at no expense to the Men’s Club. It was agreed to have it done.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:00pm.
